What’s in a Name
I am often asked why the blog is called Don’t Drink the Orange Juice. One of the worst parts of diagnosing this disease is the 24 hour urine test. You have to collect all urine in a hat and pour it into an orange jug. The jug has to be kept in the fridge the whole time. The joke in our house was “Don’t Drink the Orange Juice”.
If you can’t laugh at it, you will cry!
Other things to laugh at – I named my first tumor Hilde, Before surgery, we gave Hilde a going away party, A week of testing with other Cushing’s patients is called Camp Cushie, After surgery, I received Bon Voyage and good bye cards addressed to Hilde Roth instead of get well cards.
